Job Description
The Educator is responsible for enhancing the total development
of the individual child through caring, learning, and play opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Work as a team player within the staff as an equal participant;
Share responsibilities with their co-educator(s) caring for the children in the daycare;
Develop and implement learning programs of selected activities which will provide opportunities for every child to grow in cognitive, social-emotional, and psychomotor areas;
Evaluate and record the progress of each child;
Provide written observations, as needed, to help facilitate an open, positive relationship with each parent;
Maintain the goals and objectives of the Daycare as determined by the Daycare administration;
Conduct themselves in a positive and professional manner;
Provide a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for the children in the Daycare;
Participate with the other educators and the parents in any internal and external, interior and outside events for the children;
Carry out all responsibilities and tasks assigned from time to time by the Daycare Director, Administrator or Board of Directors;
Participate in all meetings with the administration, parents, and other committees if required by the Daycare Director, Administrator or Board of Directors.
Qualifications
Must have a DEC or AEC (Completed);
Must pass a police background check;
Valid first aid certification is required;
High level of integrity, discretion, organizational skills, and interpersonal relation skills;
Excellent communication in English and French desired.
Additional Information
Start date: Immediately
Hours: Depending on the shift to replace (approx 3-9hrs per day);
Salary: Depending on qualifications;
